Borderline Summer Sessions

Overview
Our Summer Sessions are designed to help athletes prepare for their middle school and high school team tryouts. They are an alternative (or supplement) to attending camps or expensive private lessons. The sessions will be three to four 2 hour lessons over a 5-7 day period. Each session will be limited to 20 athletes. You have the option of signing up for specific days or all days in the session. All sessions will be held at Phillips Hall on the Miami University campus in Oxford, OH. We will also offer sand conditioning and doubles/triples play to get ready for school conditioning the last week of July. Sand sessions will be held at the Havinghurst Hall sand courts on the Miami campus. Directions to both sites will be provided.

Cost
The cost for each individual lesson in a session is $30. There is a $5 discount for registering for all days in a session. The cost for all 4 days in the All Skills and Hitting Sessions is $100. The cost for all 3 days of the Ball Control and Setting Sessions is $75. The cost of the Sand Conditioning Session is $25 for each day or $60 for all sessions. Once payment is submitted your name will be listed on the Borderline website. Athletes that are not already members of USA Volleyball will need to submit an additional fee of $10 and complete required forms we will direct you to on the Borderline website. Athletes from other clubs may participate. We need to assure your present club we are not trying to recruit you; and have their permission for you to participate if you sign up for sessions prior to July 15. There must be a copy of your USA Volleyball Medical History form on file with us to participate.
Online registration for Borderline's summer sessions is available on our sign-up page. If you are registering for all days of a session, do so at once, and send the check for the discounted total, as detailed above.
Coaches
Al Powell and Bill Zehler combine for over 50 years of volleyball playing and coaching experience. Coach Powell has coached every Borderline athlete that has gone on to participate at a Division I volleyball program. Bill Zehler has led Talawanda HS Volleyball to 6 league titles in 9 seasons. It is possible that Ronaldo Pacheco (former Brazilian National Team member) will help with the Ball Control and Setting Sessions in late July.
